You can create a menu item in DeskBug from almost anything you can find in
Windows. If you can't use it directly, you can normally create a shortcut as a
handler to help out. Try dragging an item to DeskBug, most items can be
dragged and will be
usable. If you can't drag it then you can probably copy it and paste it into the
File name slot. You can also of course select a file name by searching.
- File names, both executive and those with an associated program can be used
directly. Documents, images etc will be opened by the associated program.
You may find many programs have optional parameters that can be used in
displaying the program.
- Folder names can be used and will open Explorer at that folder.
- Favourites and bookmarks vary but can normally be dragged to DeskBug.
If
not, they can be copied. If neither then by creating a shortcut!
- Control panel items cannot be used directly but you can easily create a
shortcut and use that.
- Web addresses can be used by copying them from your browser. Some
addresses will require web page detail, ie '/index.html'.
- Your email client can be opened with a specific recipient address by using "mailto:"
and the email address.
- Use callto: and a Skype/NetMeeting name to start a conversation.
- All shortcuts can be used but don't delete the extension.
- Add other links to run at the same time by dragging from the list.
You may need a little trial and error to find the best option for a
particular item but a link can be easily tested before saving.
